8.6.2016 - 12.6.2016:
Brac -Korcula (Kroatien/Croatia)
Wir beginnen unsere Reise in bekannten Gefilden, wie wir sie auch aus vergngenen Urlaubtörns kennen. Von Brac aus geht es über die Inseln Hvar und Peljesac nach Korcula Stadt, wo wir einen ersten Service-Stop einlegen. Unerwartet wenig Wind oder solcher von der falschen Seite lässt uns zum Motorboot werden.
We start our trip in waters well known from previous holidays. From Brac we sail to the islands of Hvar to the town of Korcula where we have our first service stop in a Marina. Unexpected low or wrong winds forces us to mutate to a motor-boat.
13.6.2016 - 18.6.2016:
Mljet - Dubrovnik (Kroatien/Croatia)
Wir setzen unsere Reise in bekannten Gewässern fort. Der Aufenthalt in der Bucht Polace auf Mljet hat uns nicht nur ein spontanes Gewitter beim Ankern sondern als Draufgabe auch noch eine schöne abendliche Wanderung zum nahe gelegenen See mit Klosterinsel beschert.
Der Aufenthalt in Dubrovnik dauerte mit 4 Tagen wesentlich länger als geplant. Starker SO-Wind hinderte uns an einem sinnvollen Weiterkommen und so haben wir eine schöne Zeit in einer der schönsten Marinas Dalmatiens sowie natürlich der Altstadt von Dubrovnik verbracht. Nette neuen Bekanntschaften mit Seglern aus Pinsdorf in Oberösterreich haben uns das Warten auf die Weiterfahrt erleichtert.
We continue our trip in well known waters. The stay in the bay of Polace/island of Mljet provided not only a spontaneous thundestorm during our nanchoring maoever but also a pleasant walk to the nearby lake with a monastry on an island located in this lake.
Our stay in Dubrovnik finally lasted 4 days which was way more than planned. Stron SE-winds convinced us not to carry on and as an alternative we enjoyed staying in wonderful Dubrovnik and the faboulos marina. Meeting new friends from nearby our homes in Austria also eased our waiting to carry on.
18.6.2016 - 22.6.2016: Montenegro
Mit dem Verlassen von Dubrovnik und der Weiterfahrt gen Süden betreten wir neues Terrain. Das Ausklarieren in Cavtat verläuft genauso unkompliziert und rasch wie die Einreiseformalitäten in Zelenika/Montenegro. Nachdem es schön spät ist, ankern wir gleich in der Nähe des Zollstgs, aber doch in ausreichender Entfernung zum italienischen Kriegsschiff, welches dort ebenfalls die Nacht verbrachte.
Der anschließende Aufenthalt in Kotor hat sich als weiteres Highlight entpuppt. Auch wenn alle Untugenden des Massentourismus hier nicht zu übersehen sind, hat dieser Ort doch einen besonderen Liebreiz behalten. Wir haben hier ausgezeichnet gegessen (anders als in Dubrovnik) und zumindest ein Teil von uns ist mit Freude den Festungsberg hinter der Altstadt hochgewandert.
Zwei Ankernächte in Buchten unweit von Zelinka bzw. Budva folgten. Vor allem Letztere (Jaz) mit seinem lebendigen Strandleben hat uns sehr gefallen.
Letzter Stop in Montenegro war Bar. Abgesehen von der Marina mit ihrem besonderen "Charme" und starker russischer Prägung und kaum einem Schiff, welches nicht in der Karibik oder in Delaware registriert ist, hat uns die Stadt gut gefallen. Wiederum überraschend gut gegessen und das Leben nach Sonnenuntergang genossen.
Leaving Dubrovnik towards South brings us to new waters. Checking out in Cavtat/Croatia as well as checking in in Zelenika/Montenegro was quite uncomplicated and efficient. We anchored in Zelenika close to the customs quai but in a comfortable distance to an Italian warship also staying there overnight.
The following stay in Kotor as definitely another highlight of our trip so far. Despite of all not so positive effects mass-tourism brings along this place has kept a unique positive mood. We had a good dinner in Kotor (different than that what we were served in Dubrovnik) and at least part of the crew enjoyed ascending the forress-hill in close distance to the old town of Kotor.
After leaving Kotor we stayed two nights in anchor bays close to Zelenika and Budva and in particular the latter (Jaz) has positively impressed us with its buzzling beach-life.
Our last stop in Montenegro was the town of Bar. Apart from the Marina with its specific "charm" und strong russian orientation and barely a single ship not being registered in a Carribean State or in Delaware, we did like Bar where we - again - had a very good dinner and enjoyed the après-sun hours.
23.6.2016 - 2.7.2016: Albanien/Albania
Ein wahrhafte positive Überraschung für uns. Auch wenn für Segler kaum Infrastruktur vorhanden ist und die absolut unnötige "Selbstbeschäftigungsbürokratie" uns und unser Budget genervt hat, waren wir von den Eindrücken, die dieses Land bei uns hinterlassen hat, sehr angetan. An honest positive surprise was our visit to Albania. Although this country offers rarely any infrastructure for sailing pleasure crafts and the inacceptable bureaucracy has definitely bothered us as well as our budget we can frankly confirm that we still are quite positive about our Albanian impression. 2.7.2016 - 8.7.2016: Griechenland/Greece
Ein schnelles "Hallo" zu Griechenland, mehr war zeitlich leider nicht drin. Der culture-clash von Albanien zu Griechenland war schon bemerkenswert, plötzlich wieder soviele andere Segler um uns herum und in Gouvia haben wir uns wie im Olymp aller Marinas gefühlt. Die positive Grundstimmung Griechenlands haben wir sehr schnell in uns aufgenommen und uns insbesondere sehr darüber gefreut, dass wir Fritz und Gerti, unsere netten Nachbarn aus der Marina in Dubrovnik (und beinahe auch zuhause) in Griechenland wieder getroffen haben. In Platarias am Festland sowie in Paxos (Gaios) haben wir mehrere Tage in fantastisch schöner Umgebung geankert, sehr gut gelebt und wirklich angenehme Unterhaltungen mit der Crew der "Miro" geführt. Um auf unserer Reise weiter zu kommen, sind wir am Nachmittag des 8.7. dann schweren Herzens in Richtung Italien aufgebrochen. Griechenland alleine wäre mit Sicherheit eine Jahresreise wert, um der vielschichtigen Schönheit dieses Landes näher zu kommen.
A quick "hello" to Greece, this is what we could manage on our trip. The clash of cultures between Albania and Greece was obvious and remarkable. Out of nothing we were surrounded again by other sailors and in Gouvia Marina close to the town of Corfu we felt like god goddess! We sound absorbed the absolutely positive general mood of Greece and were in particular happy to have met our "neighbors" from the Marina Dubrovnik (and also from home) in Greece again. In Plantarias on the mainland of Greece as well as in Gaios (Paxos) we spent some fabulous days anchoring in beautiful bays, had good food and pleasant chats with the crew of "Miro".
In order to make way on our journey we decided - with heavy heart - to proceed towards Italy on the afternoon of 8 July. Greece only would be more than worth spending a one-year trip in order to get closer to the layered beauty of this country.
