What´s the matter with the weather??

Usually nice westerly winds are predicted for the area we are currently sailing but we are facing SE-winds up to 55 kts on our way to the south. Consequently, only 1 1/2 hrs of pure sailing were possible since we started our trip and currently we are "locked" in Dubrovnik due to consistent wind directions from the wrong side.

Unsere Etappen bisher:

Milna - Hvar - Korcula (Bucht Gradina) - Peljesac - Stadt Korcula - Mljet - Dubrovnik.

Apparently "La Nina" is sending her best regards, the major ocean currents in the Pacific are turning back to normal which supports a weak anticyclone over the Acorean Islands leading to unstable weather conditions in Central and Southern Europe. But we remain confident that the situation will change in the medium term supporting our trip southwards.

On the 8 June we started our trip in MIlna where "Miss U" was stationed over the past 9 years. After farewells to our friend Johannes who accompanied us to Croatia and returned the lease car savely to Vienna, from Thomas Sauer and his son Patrick, the best yachting service team under the Dalmatian sun as well as our pleasant neighbors in Marina Vlaska in MIlna we were happy to finally drop lines for our voyage.

Our stops so far: Milna - Hvar - Korcula (bay of Gradina) - Peljesac - town of Korcula - Mljet (Polce) - Dubrovnik. Overall an absolutely fine mix of anchoring stops and marina visits, the ways between unfortunately often made with the use of loads of fuel instead of full sails.
